Abdominal Therapy
The abdomen is a place where many systems come together: the nervous system, the breath, the organs, hormonal processes, and often tension that has built up over the course of life.
Abdominal therapy is a gentle, in-depth form of bodywork that invites you to come back into relationship with this area. Not to ‘fix’ it, but to support the natural mobility, circulation, and cooperation between structures in the abdomen and pelvis.
This form of therapy works on a physical level – with organs, connective tissue, and flow – as well as on the level of the nervous system, where long-term tension is often held.
What is abdominal therapy?
Abdominal therapy is a form of manual therapy that focuses on the abdomen, the pelvis, and the lower back.
Through slow, attentive touch, we work with:
-
the abdominal organs, such as the uterus, ovaries, and intestines
-
connective tissue and fascia
-
breathing and natural rhythms in the body
-
the cooperation between abdomen, pelvis, and nervous system
The aim is to support healthy circulation, mobility, and function of the organs and surrounding structures.
Many women experience that tension accumulates in the abdomen due to stress, illness, medical interventions, or hormonal changes.
This therapy helps the body rediscover space and movement in an area that is often unconsciously held.

Who is abdominal therapy for?
Hormonal complaints
Conditions such as endometriosis, hormonal conditions like PCOS, and/or symptoms related to menopause
Fertility & Cycle
Women who experience challenges related to the menstrual cycle or fertility
Digestive complaints
Women who experience digestive issues, such as bloating or constipation
Physical complaints
Women who feel pain, tension, or heaviness in the lower back or abdomen
Post-partum
Women who deal with prolapse, diastesis recti or incontinence
Nervous system
Women who hold tension in the abdomen and pelvis following stress, illness, or medical interventions

Gentle, hands-on work in attunement with your body
What a session looks like
An abdominal therapy session is slow and deliberate.
We begin with a short check-in: how are you doing, and what is present in your body today?
I then work with my hands on the lower back, the abdomen, and the pelvis, always in attunement with your breath and boundaries.
Your body is covered with a blanket, and you remain in control at all times.
During a session, you may:
-
experience deep relaxation
-
notice emotions arising, or a sense of stillness
-
feel warmth, tingling, or subtle movement
-
gain insights without consciously ‘thinking’ them
Abdominal therapy & the nervous system
The abdomen is closely connected to the autonomic nervous system.
When we have spent long periods in a state of alertness or survival, this area often contracts. Breathing becomes more shallow, organs lose their natural mobility, and the body remains unconsciously ‘switched on’.
Abdominal therapy supports the body in moving back toward safety and rest. Not by convincing the mind, but by allowing the body to experience that it no longer needs to hold on.
COME HOME TO YOURSELF
My Way of Working
My approach to abdominal & womb therapy is intuitive, trauma-sensitive, and women-centred.
I do not work according to a fixed protocol, but attune to what your body needs in that moment.
My background in bodywork, women’s circles, and in-depth work with the nervous system forms the foundation of these sessions. Everything I do is oriented toward slowing down, safety, and embodiment.
An important part of my way of working is education and self-support. During our work together, I will teach you a gentle self-massage practice that you can use at home. This is especially valuable when you experience physical symptoms or ongoing physical issues, as it allows you to actively support your body between sessions.
In addition, we may explore supportive home practices that can complement the sessions, such as perineal steams or castor oil packs. These options are always discussed carefully and are adapted to your individual situation and needs.
